A sensor relocation adapter moves a sensor to a different position in your vehicle’s engine or exhaust system. These products come in various forms to address specific needs, from avoiding physical obstructions to altering sensor readings. 

These adapters are used to move the O2 sensor, which measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. They are often used to address engine check light issues that arise after modifying a vehicle’s exhaust system, such as removing the catalytic converter. The adapter uses a spacer to move the sensor out of the direct exhaust stream, which “tricks” the engine’s computer into thinking a catalytic converter is still in place.
